Instructions for the Removal of an Unwanted Statue
The monument will be placed on a raft and cast out onto the milky froth of a moon-lit sea. In this light, the eyes will blaze like sermons from the skull; from between the toes, the rancor of villages un-built by the arms of an overthrow will seep out in sweats, vilifying the salt drenched basin. Furthermore, the waves will curl back, the sea winds will bulge against an unseen wall and the very eye of the sun will lose reference to the earth, as though it were lost in the aisles of a confusing library of planets. On the shore, we will watch in droves and congratulate the organizers, on sending a thing away more beautifully than it arrived.
